About the artist: Justin Knowles [1935-2004] was exhibited by the Waddington Galleries in the 1960s and later held one-man exhibitions at Austin Desmond Fine Art. He was a hard-edge abstract painter and sculptor, this example being one of his classic forms. His works are found in many institutional collections including the permanent collections of the Tate, British Museum, etc.
