Converted and UK pat tested into wonderfully unique pattern weave table lamps. The bases made by the Wounaan who are native to the Choco region, an area on the pacific coast of Colombia, defined by the richness of its landscape and biodiversity as well as it’s distinct Afro-Colombian heritage. The entire production carried out by hand, from harvesting the Werregue palm, to drying, dyeing and complex weaving these extraordinary pieces.
The Wounaan technique displays true craftmanship, and are now recognised as amongst the most complex and intricate basket techniques in the world. Each is a piece of art, an entirely unique design of the individual artisan and a symbol of the rich and diverse nature of the Choco Region, and of the Wounaan culture.
