A RAVISHING SPANISH HAND-PAINTED TIN AND FLORAL 18TH CENTURY LANTERN

£8,500.00

Spain, Mid-Late 18th Century

A glorious and eccentric one of a kind romantic creation dating from mid-late 18th century, Spain. Made entirely by hand and featuring individual cut tin painted irises, blue cornflowers, other wild flowers and abundant foliage offset with ceramic hand glazed peonies and roses - twisted and clinging to a hand forged wrought iron lantern frame designed to be suspended from a ceiling. The overall impression is mesmerizing. The generous scale combined with the level of decorative detail creates a statement centrepiece for any dining table, entrance hall or drawing room. The lower centre of the lantern has been adapted to feature three 23cm high minimal design low-voltage candle lamps, connected to mains via a three pin click rose. All fully tested in the UK.
